This is a periodically published play report of titles introduced at INDIE Live Expo 【Let’s INDIE !】。
This time, we’ll take an in-depth look at the “All in Abyss: Judge the Fake” play report, which was introduced at “INDIE Live Expo 2024.5.25” and “Let’s Play Steam NEXT Fest 2024.10.16.”

In the gambling district known as “The City,” the protagonist, Asuha Senahara steps up to prove her skills as a prodigy gambler by facing tough opponents in poker matches.
Awaiting her are gamblers known as “Witches” who use cheats and fraud. Defeat the Witches by exposing their tricks and aim for the top of this town.

The story stakes everything on “poker.”

In the “The City,” a town of gamblers, poker floods the streets.

Watch the story unfold as the characters push the stakes higher.

A poker match will be necessary to make the other party to fold and to listen to your story.

Citizens will listen after you’ve won the match.

When the purse runs dry, Asuha will have to stay afloat through poker.
Set the stakes, and let’s get ready for the match!

A one-on-one poker match. You can go all-or-nothing, or bet small and earn steadily…

With no chips left to bet, physical labor might be your only option.

Even rookies in poker can feel confident.

In All in Abyss, an original rule based on a variation of poker called “Texas Hold’em” is used.
Since a tutorial is fully provided, even those who’ve never touched a poker chip—or heard of Texas Hold’em—can jump in and play without a hitch.

The tutorial is reassuring. In fact, even Asuha is playing Texas Hold’em for the first time.
And then there are the “skills” that Asuha can use.

And then there are the “skills” that Asuha can use.
These are abilities Asuha can activate at any given moment during poker matches to turn the tide of the game in her favor.
The skills at Asuha’s disposal are game-changers—like “seeing the opponent’s hand” or “forcing cards of a desired suit to be dealt,” giving her an overwhelming edge at the table.
Read the table and use your skills at the critical moment to go all in.

Activating a skill requires a cost called “luck.” Make sure not to run out of luck.

Skills can be obtained by purchasing them at the shop.
Some skills let you rig the hand you’ve been dealt, while others even let you manipulate the opponent.

Judge the Fake.

Exposing the cheats used by the Witches is essential for Asuha to have a shot at winning.
In the adventure part, you explore the town and investigate what kind of tricks are being used.

Interview the townspeople and steadily gather intel. It goes without saying there will be poker matches for that info.

Based on the information gathered, you will deduce the type of tricks up the Witches’ sleeves.
However, there’s more besides investigating. You need to strategize before challenging Witches to a match.

Once the witch is exposed, the game is in the bag. With enough preparation, you’ll just need to play your cards right.

Will Asuha be able to gamble her way to the top of the city, or will she be royally flushed into the abyss and face destruction…?
“All In Abyss: Judge the Fake” is scheduled to be released in 2024.
